Guest erichkooi Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Hi. Do anyone know how to set default SMS application to SMS-CHAT? I am on DDDRKO WM6.5 21815 ROM. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks. Eric ps: Really hate default SMS application, do anyone know what else user friendly SMS application beside SMS-CHAT?
Guest dannych99 Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 There is a program called "SMS config" doing the job for you. ;) It's a green application(no installation needed), just unrar and copy to where you want, run it---select SMS mode you like.SMSConfig.zip
Guest Smogg01 Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 in registry go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM SMSInboxThreadingDisabled and there 1 = regular sms style SMSInboxThreadingDisabled 0 = sms-chat
Guest corwest Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 i think you guys are missing his point. He wants VITO SMS-CHAT as his default right? Not just threaded messaging.
Guest jonboyuk Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 FYI WM6.5 isn't a firmware ;) It's a version of WinMo!

I guess I am still stuck with default SMS application. Eric PS: I was search around yesterday on other forums and managed to change the setting (.....\:MSINBOX to SMS-CHAT), which enabled default SMS to SMS-CHAT except on WM6.5 Homescreen section ;) Any idea guys?
Guest endursa Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 i think in the titanium chome plugins are the links hardcoded one way would be to use ctext instead of chome there you can set the link via the registry:)
Guest Unisoldrew Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Eric PS: I was search around yesterday on other forums and managed to change the setting (.....\:MSINBOX to SMS-CHAT), which enabled default SMS to SMS-CHAT except on WM6.5 Homescreen section ;) So are you saying that by changing this, it would work in TouchFlo?
Guest DJRedLine Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 So are you saying that by changing this, it would work in TouchFlo? Lets say you wanted to use Resco Contact manager - If you want to use the Sms program from Resco Contact Manager as the default, here's the Key you need to change: HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Shell>Rai>:MSINBOX Change key labeled 1 from tmail.exe Change key labeled 1 to :RPhoneMan -sms To change to Resco Contact Manager change this key: HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Shell>Rai>:MSCONTACTS Change key labeled 1 from :MSPOUTLOOK contacts Change key labeled 1 to :RPMContacts The above just needs to be edited for your chosen app. This still does not change the Titanium chome plugins though as pointed out above they need to be edited either in the registry or via chome editor.

Guest Unisoldrew Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Make sure your looking in the 'Rai' folder and not the 'Ria' folder Do you have the complete path cos I can't find (even by searching) any of the above criteria in the registry?!?! Thanks.
Guest DJRedLine Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Do you have the complete path cos I can't find (even by searching) any of the above criteria in the registry?!?! Thanks. this is the full path - HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Shell \ Rai \ :MSINBOX HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Shell \ Rai \ :MSCONTACTS These should definately be there or your phone wouldnt work correctly ;)

Tried changing it but nothing happens. It still uses MS text when clicking from the task bar.
Guest justinwilson Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) Here is how you set up SMS-Chat as your default SMS Client on a windows mobile. I am running Windows 6.1 on a Samsung Omnia. My goal was to have SMS-Chat open when I click the SMS button from SPB-Mobile Shell which is the interface I'm running. http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/ http://iwindowsmobile.com/threaded-sms-messaging.htm Edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Shell > Rai > :MSINBOX set the following: Name: 0 Data: SMSChat Name: 1 Data: "\Program Files\VITO\SMS-Chat\SMSChat.exe" [DONT FORGET THE "QUOTES"] Name: 2 Data: 0 Name: 3 Data: 0 Edited July 22, 2009 by justinwilson

Guest erichkooi Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 thats not what the original question was... Hi, Thanks for the help but changing registry it wont open SMS-CHAT when I clicked on Titatium 6.5 homescreen link. anyone know how to edit titatium homescreen?
Guest nxtvctm Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I made SMS Chat my default chat application. Heres how. I followed the steps provided in the earlier posts about changing the registry thing. This only works if your SMS chat is installed on your device. If its installed in My storage or somewhere else, you write the location of it. Eg for me it was "\My Storage\Program Files\VITO\SMS-Chat\SMSChat.exe"
