Guest cmalone Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 is this slang? anywho, you most likely have too many programs. you could flash to a "lite" rom- then you would have oodles of space. i questioned this problem also. 8g internal and 8g card, wth. storage and program memory are actually around 50-150 depending on which rom you flash. i was getting this error all the time before i flashed to unbloated version. hope this helps. chris

Good Luck,
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Make sure that you've installed your additional programs to either My Storage, or to Storage Card (if you have one). If you've installed your programs onto the Device, then you'll eat up that memory... which is something that you don't want to do. I won't get into a detailed explanation here as to why, but you should not be having this problem, unless you've done what I've just described. The only programs that you should install onto the device are system reliant programs such as shells, or gps. Everything else can pretty much be installed onto My Storage or the Storage Card. My Storage is your actual 8gb drive. Make sure that you install all of your music and pics there as well; otherwise, you'll run into the same problem. Go to settings/system/main. There you will see how much device memory you have under Storage. My guess is that this is the critically low number. Now if you tab over to the Storage Card tab, you'll be able to see how much space you have left between both your storage card and My Storage 8gb memory. If I'm correct with all this, then you'll have to uninstall everything and reinstall them back to the proper places. You may also want to take the previous suggestion into consideration and flash a lite custom ROM. This is a whole other topic - especially if your new to this - but they do provide better device memory reserves in general. Samsung stock ROMs, or branded ROMs, tend to be heavy on the junk. Good luck with this! ;)

Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 anyway just wanna ask u guys dl themes wit manila 2d or dl htc themes??? where u all install it??? M2D themes do go into My Device/Program Files/M2D/Themes. I'm not sure of HTC themes because I don't use them, but generally themes are installed in My Device/Windows - especially if they have a .tsk extension.
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 but d instruction ask me 2 install it on my device in order 2 work... ^^ Not sure how general that statement is. There is a clear difference between installing on "My Device" and installing on the device. If you install M2D themes, then you need to install it onto My Device because M2D needs to be installed on My Device. If you have a GPS Navigation program, then it needs to be installed on My Device as well. As I said earlier, all your other programs can be installed onto My Storage. I'm pretty sure that your low memory problem is due to the reason that I explained earlier. Create a new folder in My Storage and then reinstall all of your other apps to My Storage. I'm pretty sure that you know by now that when you install programs onto your phone, it'll ask you where you want to install them. By default, the apps will install into the newly created Program Files folder in My Storage. Just do it! You'll see.

I use iGo Amigo, and have used iGo 8, TomTom 7 and Garmin XT and installed all to My Storage and they ran, locked, and navigated just fine..
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Since when do GPS nav apps need to be on MyStorage? But don't confuse loading the files onto My Storage or the Storage Card, with installing the running program onto My Device. I've tried to do the latter with mine, and it just didn't work out. Most of these Nav programs come loaded on an additional card anyway. ;) I think homeboy's problems here are a bit beyond running a Nav program anyway. Edited July 2, 2009 by meabigbaldguy
