Guest Ninja Nips Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I am dropping calls, and breaking up real bad during calls. The phone says I have signal (2 or 3 bars), and this is in my living room. So, it's not like I'm moving in and out of service areas. I have only had the phone for a couple weeks, and I flashed it with bgill's ROM like the second or third day. So, I don't really have any reference for how the phone performed "stock." So, does my phone just suck, or do you think it could possibly have something to do with the ROM/software?

The bars are not a good representation of your actual signal. It has been shown time and again that it can be way off. So typically you need to go by your actual reception which in your case sounds to be bad. The only change to the radio was when you "upgraded" to the CC20 ROM to get the unlocked GPS. COuld this have made a difference? Yes, it could have. Does bgills ROM? No probably not.
Guest Ninja Nips Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Right on. So, it's probably the hardware/antenna. Not the software. That's what I wanted to know. Thanks
