GPS Problem Acquiering Satellites :(

HI all ,

I have been trying some roms and all of a sudden , GARMIN navigation software stopped seing satellites ??

I am using sectors rom now with no luck on the GPS side.

is there any thing i can do to check if my phone is defective or is it something else ??

why do you don't try iGO ?

all devices that i have with windows mobile i used igo, is the best gps fo me.

Thank you , I am trying IGO now .. but it is not even seeing one satellite .

is there a way to test the GPS device ? it is detected but not finding satellites >>

Leave enough time initially (at least 2-5 minutes) to communicate and lock satelites since i900 very poor responsiveness to gps. It comes from it genatics ;) :D . But do not affraid and trust me sometimes it pick up signals in a quick time like 20-60 seconds :) .

i hard reset now and still trying ..

it was VERY good before , it even picked up inside the house !

as you said .. it needed some time ..

but now , I think I had my time to say .. bye bye OMNIA ..

I think I am going back to Symbian .. most probably .. INNOV8 :)

I'm using Garmin with sector's w1a Lite rom and haven't had a problem with locking satellites. Like Junoman said, sometimes it takes a little while to lock (when i first upgrade rom, but then i'm usually get fix in under 60s.

I've tried two of the roms out there. I can get a GPS lock most times, but it always takes 10 minutes or so to get a usable lock. I can never get a lock if I'm indoors. I have the GPS "helper" program in my ROM - I've downloaded the file, but it doesnt seem to make any difference. I eventually can get 5 sats, but it is unusably slow. Hopefully we will see some improvement in future ROMS - who knows Verizon might actually release something that works (ha, wishful thinking)
