Im steaming p***ed about my Omnia

;) I HATE IT! Im so seriously wanting to spike this thing now!

How is this thing considered a smart phone? Its the dumbest POS if ever owned and i completely hate it.

Please someone tell me I just got a bad one.......

ANYWAY, here's the problem.

Randomly it just stops working and shuts off. Only when i let it go to sleep mode or whatever you consider it when the screen shuts off. 40% of the time it WONT come back on and i have to take the battery out, wait a few seconds, then put it back in and i can power it on. I have also noticed ill here a text message come in, and go to check it and it wont come back on, forcing me to power cycle the phone and once it comes back on it shows i have a new test message. Ive only owned this for 45 days is what really burns my a**.

Also, while im typing the d*mn keyboard minimizes itself and i end up hitting send or touching a different button that screws it all up. And what ever happend to being able to copy and paste parts of a text message? I cant select text. I cant copy text. I cant paste text.

I cant tell you how many different ROMs i have tried, to remedy this problem. Ive followed the correct steps to flash and re-flash, as well as adding content blah blah blah etc etc.

I'm currently running:

This Firmware update:

i910WM6.1.REV10.CC20.VZW

With this ROM(cant remember the developer but this is the file name):

Flash_1_4

And this interface:

TouchFLO (newest version)

Extra apps installed:

Finger Keyboard

YouTube

Bing

Google Maps

REQUESTS: For god-sake is there anyone out there that knows of a delivery confirmation i can look at in the text message notes(Message Information)?!?!?!?!

Patience Factor: ZERO

Please someone point me in the right direction. Or give me some realistic help/advice before i shoot this thing with my 12guage.

U can try my rom but i would not use Finger Keyboard and try it without touchflo first let me know what happens

Sorry to see you frustrated, but as the chef of that rom, I assure you its not the root of your issues.

1.4 is pretty old--have you hard reset any time recently?

I did one about 3 weeks ago after i did this last flash and then left it alone. But i have to do the hard reset on a different rom because it wants to activate my phone through Alltel and not Verizon.

If you're using a v1 ROM, I would consider updating to one of the chef's latest (Most are on at least v3 of theirs, or later I think)

The screen not coming back on has been mostly addressed, I think it was more of an early WinMo 6.5 thing, since I haven't heard of it anymore in the newer ROMs.

The keyboard minimizing, idk, never had that problem... I use TouchPal as my keyboard, and love it ;)

A really simple thnig that might help with the shutting off is cleaning the contacts to your battery and on the phone. I tell people to try it all the time but I think most just blow it off. You should regularly clean the contacts on any electronic/battery interface though.

Take the battery out, rub the contacts with a rubber pencil eraser, put it back in. If it doesn't help, you have still petentially saved yourself a headache in the future. I had the issue of setting my phone down and having it shut off and doing this eliminated the problem.

it seems your phone is bad... try a newer rom

I used to have this problem and when I flashed Adryn's new rom it doesn't seem to do it as bad. I have also heard that the shutting down thing could also be due to the battery getting very hot and causing something internal to go hogwash.

BTW...you DON"T have to take the battery out. Just hit the soft reset key next to the power button and it WILL soft reset your phone and turn on. When the off occasion that my phone does "die" I hit the soft reset button and poof...back to great.
