Guest Lisbian08 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 (edited) Changing the color of the text on the start menu is easy. Go to registry entry HKLM\software\microsoft\color. Add binary value with name of 9 The value with be one of the following hex codes http://alt-web.com/HexColorChart.shtml Example are: 00 00 00 is black FF FF FF is white FF 00 00 is red 00 00 FF is blue For the start menu text. It is a resource in the file shellres.dll.0409.mui It is resource number 321. Change the text "Start" to what ever you want. I haven't played around with it that much to realize any limitations yet. Editing the mui is the same as a dll. You must unsign it, edit it, then resign it. I have enclosed the original mui file from WM 6.5 ROM as well as one edited to say Omnia. Omnia_Start_text.zip Original_Start_Text.zip This is the Omnia start text with color 00 66 FF Edited July 8, 2009 by Lisbian08
Guest Lisbian08 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 (edited) I found these 2 files on samsung-omnia.org. See what you think. RC_Mod_Color_Changer.CAB Has the option for changing taskbar text color ING_Change_Font.cab Allows you to change system fonts including the taskbar. Edited July 8, 2009 by Lisbian08
Guest vinbeaver Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 To use the Omnia text one, do I just copy the file to \Windows?
Guest Lisbian08 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 To use the Omnia text one, do I just copy the file to \Windows? Yes, just copy the respective shellres.dll.0409.mui into the windows folder. I should have specified that in the first post. ;)

RC_Mod_Color_Changer.CAB Has the option for changing taskbar text color ING_Change_Font.cab Allows you to change system fonts including the taskbar. The RC Mod app works great, it does the color changes easily and is pretty user friendly. THe ING app though I found to be not as user friendly. It has been a while since I used it, but it is pretty much trial and error, so unless you know EXACTLY the font and size for each area, you have a LOT of resets in store for you!! There was a problem in resetting everything to stock if I remember correctly as well, if you didn't remember the settings you had a problem ( I am very fuzzy on this one though, I can't remember the details).
Guest d734 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 how can I change the taskbar and the bottom bar from black (or any other color) to transparent?

Guest Lisbian08 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 how can I change the taskbar and the bottom bar from black (or any other color) to transparent? Thats a good question. I don't know off hand, but if I find it, I will be sure to add it to the first post.
Guest jeffrey2000 Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Is it also possible to leave the start text empty or maybe add a space to be empty?
Guest Lisbian08 Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Is it also possible to leave the start text empty or maybe add a space to be empty? I don't see why adding spaces for the string resource wouldn't work. I haven't tried it, but it seems plausible.

Guest Lisbian08 Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 yeh I thought the same but can't really test it myself to be sure. Here is a modded file unzip it to your windows directory. If you don't like it get the original off the first post. Tell me how it works. I didn't have time this morning to test it, so go at your own risk... ;)No_start_text.zip

Guest eufouria Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Sorry if this is a bit off-topic but I feel it's in the same vein as the discussion, does anyone know how to change the font size of the softkeys?

Guest Witu Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Again I welcome all. :) There is one more simple way, to change colour of the text on Taskbar, by means of this small, but the useful appendix Settings+ This change works perfectly and at all does not demand reboot. Can take directly from here: Settings_0.2.cab.zip All good, with the best regards from Ukraine ;)
Guest eclsnowman Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 How did you transparent the taskbar and bottombar like that. Or did you do that think to photoshop the background into the taskbars so it looks transparent.
