How can i get delivery confirmation of a text i sent?

One thing I highly dislike about this new smartphone stuff is little things you miss out on with a dumb phone. I came from a samsung flipshot to this Omnia 910. A huge option i want is to look at a text i sent and see if it went through or not. Im sitting there waiting for a reply and end up giving up, then talking to the person later on and find out they never received the message in the first place?!?!

Anyone have any input on this?

use advanced config & go to messaging, sms, sent notification - change to enabled

Sent confirmation is different from delivery confirmation. Just becuase it was 'sent' from your Omnia doesn't mean the other person got it.

in your text messeges screen, menu/tools/options select text messeges. There is a request delivery confirmation check box there. I dont know if it works or if the confirmation counts as a text but maybe worth a shot.

I used to enable delivery confirmation (as described above), but then I realized it only works when the other person is also on Verizon. Didn't work (for me) when the other party was on AT&T, for example. So now I just enable the SMS sent notification, but not the delivery.
