Hi,

My Omnia is flashed to MetroPCS so my internet is pretty slow. When i use Gmaps while im driving the maps don't load fast enough to keep up with the GPS, so most of the time i dont even see where im going. I was wondering if there was a program that loaded the maps off of the microsd card. I figured this would work better. I've seen iGo but it seems they only have maps for Europe. Does anybody know of one that has maps for the U.S? Much thanks in advance.

Use TOM TOM, GARMIN, OR COPILOT LIVE 7. Either of them have WinMo Platforms, and have their software loaded onto a separate SD card. I use COPILOT and it's very good.

Does TomTom work on the Omnia? Its not on the list of supported devices. Same with Garmin. Unless I'm not doing something right.

My Omnia came with a Samsung branded version of Garmin XT 5, Works fine, it just is processor intensive so you will need a car adapter

Either of the three, should be supported by WinMo 6. Like I said before, I use Copilot Live 7 and it works like a charm. Easy to install, and the best part was that I was able to download the data right from their website, without having to order and wait for a separate SD card. I'm sure that GARMIN works because it is one of the most popular NAV systems mentioned in the forum. About TOM TOM, I've read that some mods were necessary in the past, but that it works nonetheless. You may also be able to download the other two directly from their respective websites - but I'm not sure. This is what sold me on Copilot at the time that I bought it.

I would suggest doing a search in this forum on the various NAVIs. This same subject has been brought up time and again. ;)
