Guest necosino Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I do a lot of school work on my Omnia, actually. With a bluetooth keyboard, you can really turn your phone into a laptop (This is the one I use, it's great!) Paired with Skyfire, I can access all my school sites, even online libraries, and literally do just as much sitting on a train using the dining tray for my keyboard, as I would if I had a laptop. And then if I get bored, I have a bluetooth controller that I use to play games ;) lol
Guest Rob V Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 but is that usefully for business use is a blackbarry not better Perhaps you can define what you you mean by "business use"? In fact, I chose the Omnia for my own "business use" vs the BlackBerry or the iPhone. Just a few reasons: The Omnia has complete "push" sync of email, calendar, tasks, and contacts with MS Exchange (and does so without the need to pay for an expensive Blackberry Enterprise Server); it has solid mobile versions of the major MS Office tools; it has a very good browser (Opera) including support for Flash-enabled websites; and third-party apps are readily available for just about any other needs you might have. Personally, I can't see anything that a BB could handle much better than my Omnia... yet there are many things that the Omnia can do that the BB can't. Just my $.02 worth...
Guest La Traviata Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 I must admit I don't have much experience with Blackberry, but I chose my Omnia because I wanted a phone I could use for both business and play. Apart from managing appointments with email and calendar, I can create/edit Word, Excel and Power Point documents, download electronic dictionaries, plan business trips with SPB Traveller (incl. weather info, currency/unit/size converter, phrase book in many different languages) and stay on top of my expenses with SPB Wallet. I also spend a lot of time sitting in airport lounges, so having a music player, video player, internet and games (and a camera for the odd snapshot) come in handy too. P.S.: That bluetooth keyboard looks cool!
