Guest kersey Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Hi there, Just wondering what you guys think of the speaker quality on the Omnia compared to other WINMO phones you may have had e.g. Xperia, HTC Touch HD or Diamond 2 phones for listening to music. Does the Omnia rate as one of the better ones??
Guest necosino Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I don't mind the Omnia's speaker, but it's just a standard mono speaker. I had a Moto Q9 that had stereo speakers and blows the Omnia out of the water in that department.. Then again, that's also why we have bluetooth speakers ;)

Guest monsterpt Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Mono sound is very low end in my opinion. I had a samsung i730 with stereo speakers and SRS WOW. The quality of the sound is amazing on the i730. I use alot of edited audio and music for ringtones and it sounded like a concert in my pocket (hmm sounds like fun huh?) For the Omnia, I figure Samsung opted for the mono speaker to save space.
Guest necosino Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Space, and cost, and really I can't blaim them. For $30 you can get a decent set of bluetooth stereo speakers for the people that want it. For the people that don't, you just cut their cost to buy the phone by $20-30. ;)
Guest Slappa Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 I can't compare it with any other equivalent phones, but I've had no issue with the sound quality. I only really use it without headphones if I'm doing some household chores & want a bit of music around, and it's fine for what I'm expecting. I wouldn't ever pick it over an actual stereo, but it doesn't distort and provides enough quality for a quick fix.
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Its pretty good from my experience for music and the like, for mono (speakerphone quality doesn't seem that great). You can kick the volume up a bit to make it better using some program in the windows directory and it still sounds pretty good after a decent increase. I've had a Moto Q (awesome sound) and Sammy SCH-i760 which was mono, but kicked out a great sound, especially with the KB slid out.
