new software gps still not working

Hey I downloaded the new software from samsung and got all the new gadgets and dice game but my gps is still not working. Tried going outside but could not find satellites. gps position is turned on and in google maps it does find my location within 1500 meters but no lock. Is there something else I need to do? I have read other pages about getting the enhanced gps unlocked in the settings but have not figured that out either. If any one can help that would be great. I need any answers dumbed down because Im not that bright. Thanks.

I'm assuming this is still necessary with the CF03 ROM, but it may not be... Anyway, go to Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Services and click GPS and then Change Setting and set it to Location On.

Security and all, you know. Verizon assures us we are in great danger with normal GPS enabled, didn't you know that? I mean, after all, there's that app out there, "Stalker", that enables weirdos to surreptitiously install it on your phone without your knowlege, and then stalk you. ;)

I also upgraded to the new official rom and neither my gps or agps works with google maps. agps has locked me in africa once and cuba another time, which I am in neither of those locations. gps has never gotten any locks on even one satellite. I have used com 8 set at 4800 baud. Any help is greatly appreciated.? Thanks.

Baud is 57600 ;)

But Managed by Windows seemed to always work for me. I just use BAF GPS Toggle though, so no issues for me there :D (google it)

I had to let mine sit in open sky for >5 minutes before it got it's first sat lock. I had my location "within 1900 meter" in google maps almost instantly though.

So the "aGPS" really didn't seem to make any difference as far as complete cold sat lock time is concerned. It took about the same time with the leaked rom.
