Guest Piemole Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 Hey guys I am having problems with one of my email accounts. When I try to send an email it drops the email into the drafts folder and sends me one with an error message. The error message is 504 5.5.2 <Inbox>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname. I had the same account up and running only a few days ago but had to redo the account. I created the account in the same way I did last time. My other account linked to Hotmail is still working fine. It is strange because I can still recieve messages I just can't send them. Anyone have a solution to this? I am sure it will just be a matter of ticking a box somewhere but I am not very competent with this sort of thing. Thanks PM
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 In case you are not already doing so, then try setting up the account through Active Sync, and not directly from the phone. I used to have this exact same problem in the beginning, but I do remember that I was also trying to set up the account through the phone, and that it only stopped when I did it through AS. Are you using Outlook Exchange as this accounts mail server? If so, then the problem is that the phone is set to sync email from the PC and not the Exchange Server. This would allow you to recieve, but not send from the phone. Why did your settings go away? Have you changed ROMs or did a hard reset?
Guest Piemole Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 Na I installed a push email program from 3. It was buggy as hell, prob the reason it wont work I will try setting it up through AS tonight when I get home. As I recall last time I set it up I didn't need to go through AS but will give it a whirl and let you know.
