Wi-fi Automatically Turns off in Sleep Mode

Hey everyone,

Just having a small problem with my omnia. I'm not sure if this is the case with all Omnia and i have done a google search although the results point to another issue (which i experience aswell but won't mention right now to avoid confusion).

Basically, whenever my Omnia goes to sleep it automatically disconnects my wi-fi connection. It isn't really an issue at home but at other places i have to authenticate again and it becomes a real hassle. I've disabled the checkbox "Enable Wi-Fi power-saving mode" and it still does this. I'm using a 6.5 rom right now but i also experienced this on the 6.1 rom.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks

Settings->System->Power

Use the arrows on the bottom right to scroll the tabs until you see the Wifi tab. Uncheck the box, "Enable Wifi Power Saving Mode".

I think it's an automatic Windows function to disconnect Wi-Fi when the screen is off, or unused for a certain amount of time. You could look through the registry tweaks, I think I had seen it there, but I'm not totally sure.

No. See post #2.

Ah, I thought you had done that already! I thought maybe that ROM had it auto-enabled, or it wasn't working that way.

I'm not sure about this, but I have a fuzzy, deja vu sort of memory of having to go and uncheck that every time I've hard reset, implying that it is by default checked.

Regardless, this is the problem. I can confirm that Wifi is turned off during sleep if it is checked, and keeps operating if unchecked (just checked it out).

Yeah i've tried that. It was unchecked on default (and still is). Whether i check it or not makes no difference whatsoever, i still get disconnected. The only "work around" i can think of is to leave the screen on for a longer period.

I unchecked the box and it doesn't disconnect me from wi-fi

I have the same issue and haven't found any solution yet. ;)
