Was there ever fix to the problem of getting an MMS picture and the Omnia resizing it?

I found an old thread on PPCG but that never solved my problem.

Does anyone else have this problem? It's really annoying to get 13kb thumbnail pictures from friends, and I can't even see what it is.

Maybe it's the size of images compatible to MMS. Small images can only be sent through it.

But the same image, for example, 640x480 taking by my buddies normal cell phone camera, sent to two different phone, mine, and my other friend with a LG enV2, come out different. The env2 can save the pic and download it to his PC at full resolution, while my Omnia resizes them to thumbnail size. They look like icons when I download them to my PC.
