Flash, Restore, Use, Backup, Flash, Restore, Use, etc.

Hi People,

Ok I admint it, Im a big flasher :D But I still havent found the best way to backup my installed programs and install them on the new flash.

I am alittle sick of reinstalling everything and setup everything over all the time.

Its easy to backup and restore contracts, messagers, cals logs and appointments. But what with my programs and games thats ive setup and worked hard level

with skill and determintion? How do i backup and restore to my new flash without releveling my games over and over? ;)

Any suggestions would be a help guys. :)

SASHIMI works great for me.

It's really easy to configure, and you can:

install cabs

install cabs to my storage or a MicroSD card

import reg settings

run EXE's (like pim backup)

provision XML's (set up activesync, wireless networks)

copy specific files to specific locations (htcemu files, opera cookies...)

and much more!

I hear that Sprite Backup or SPB Backup are great for this. You simply create a backup that's an .exe file. Then you put it onto your computer or something (not sure, because I haven't done it myself, but have the program) then when you flash to a new ROM, simply put the .exe back onto your omnia, then execute it, and voila! Everything should be back to the way it was, but with a new rom... i think. I hear all the settings and configuarations like registry are all set to the way they were, as well as installed programs and data.

However, since i have not used this myself, I can't be 100% sure that thats what happens.

Just install your games and apps to My Storage. After a flash, reinstall the apps to MyStorage. 99% of the time, your settings and saves are still there since they were never deleted ;)

Just make sure that you are installing to My Storage all the time :D
