Guest kurcha Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Hello everyone... I searched for this and couldn't find anything. Does anyone knows if any flash would allow me to use a Samsung Omnia i910 in another CDMA network? Specifically, I am referring to IUSACELL (Mexico) - I will be visiting for about 3 - 6 months and would like to know if I can sign up with them or not? Please advise... THNX!

Hi from Cancun ;-) Is very easy to buy local phone number from IUSACELL, cost nothing (after short bargain), just buy some $4 credit, but they do not have configurations for Omnia. I could not use mine Bell i910, I hope soon someone get us Samsung firmware that is not branded, from there to start ... local store told me they can configurate to use with IUSACELL, but not until I find the unbranded i910 firmware, if you have i910 firmware ..... plese share!
Guest natedawg1013 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I don't think branding matters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the only thing that matters is which network the ESN is registered with. One example of this is the Motorola RAZR. People have been flashing around with many images from many service providers with no problems.

If phone is Verizone (or Bell in my case) it keep "Roaming" IUSACELL did registered my ESN into their system, however they were unable to configurate phone, I believe is nessesary to remove completely other provider settings .... I might be wrong, just my guesses
