Guest technomedic Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 I have flashed several of the ROMS available - 6.1,6.5,CC20, &CF03 versions. I think they are great. ... However I have one problem. With the exception of the official verizon rom, every rom I flash locks the phone up after a period of inactivity (this period varies from a minute or two, or may not happen for an hour or more) This only happens when the phone is on battery power - never when it is plugged in. I have tinkered with the power setting, but to no avail. THe amount of charge on the battery doesnt seem to affect whether or not this happens. Its getting frustrating because I have found a coulple of 6.5 ROMS i really like, but constantly having to soft reset or pop out the battery is to much of a hassle. Any ideas? Is there a setting I am missing? ), Is there something im doing wrong in the flash process? although im sure if there were, i would be holding a brick instead of a phone LOL. PLEASE HELP!
Guest necosino Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 99% of the time this is caused by something you are installing. I had this problem a long, long time ago, like when we first started flashing the i910, but haven't run into it in a very long time. The troubleshooting is basically up to you. Do a hard reset. Install applications one at a time. Install an application, then let it sit for a while and see if the problem occurs. If not, move on to the next one. It's easy, but time consuming, but really it's the only way to figure out which application is doing it.. Obviously you don't need to worry too much about games and stuff like that, but save them for afterwords in case you need to Hard reset again.
Guest technomedic Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 thanks for the suggestion. Thats what I was hoping might be the problem. I'd rather give up an app than 6.5! I'll post up what the culprit is once I figure it out.
Guest natedawg1013 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) A suggestion to double the speed of finding the problem: install 2 programs at a time. When the phone locks up, you know that it's one of the last two. Then, you can just test them. I would not reccomend more than three at a time, though. Another idea: 1)Install half of your apps. 2)If it locks up, it's in that group. If not, it's in the other half. 3)Either way, whichever group you determine to have the locking app in, only install half of those apps. 4)Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you find the individual problematic app. Like a type of binary elimination. Lol, great explanation. I love being a geek where I can appreciate this type of stuff!
