email send & receive setup

I just bought my SPV and something is not clear to me. I thought that the idea of having GPRS would allow me to receive emails immediately like receiving calls or SMS. The email setup however does not seem to provide for that. It starts with checking all 15 minutes, etc.

I am probably missing something here. Can anyone help me.

You have to connect to GPRS when you want to receive emails you are

not connected permanently.

If you were you would then not be able to receive calls.

It's one or the other.

If you were connected permanently you would get a nice big bill every month ;)
