Guest jeffrey2000 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) Did anyone already hear or see something about the technolgy called "augmented reality" you'll prabably think...wtf... Well "it's the combination of real-world and computer-generated data (virtual reality), where computer graphics objects are blended into real footage in real time". See the link and pics below http://www.mobile-augmented-reality.com/ and http://www.t-immersion.com/ Now I was thinking of anyone saw something like this already on our Omnia's? this would be really cool, I couldn't find much about it but the technolgy is pretty new still... I guess that the Terminator already used this technology years ago in the future :) Edited July 24, 2009 by jeffrey2000
Guest Bouvrie Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 It's a pretty interesting development. Some applications are already operational on Android, check http://layar.eu/ . Some semi-interesting demo applications by Imagination, already working on the Omnia: AR Zoo MobileAR Be sure to set the Video Settings to 'Flip Vertically' and Rotate video to 90 degrees, otherwise it won't work. :)
Guest Happy Dave Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 its out for smartphones already, and iphone apps in development. Theres loads of university research groups working on it with demos so it wont be long before its mainstream, just look at the sponsors of Layar!

Guest rcicu Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 under options/video when you run the app ... GG The app doesn't get to that point, all it does is displays a title bar.
Guest R10T Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 locks up on the loading screen for me...shame my daughter would of loved to see the animals. BTW I have WM 6.5

Guest dwallersv Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Thats the exact problem I have. Me too. Official CF03 6.1 rom from verizon. Bummer.
Guest gottfroa Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Both works fine for me. Khuanchai's WM 6.5 UL DXIF1 21928 Rom
Guest Bouvrie Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) To everyone having problems starting: perhaps try installing NetCF 3.5 from this thread? I tried this on both WM 6.5 and WM 6.1 (various ROMs, can't remember which), and it worked fine. *edit* Oh, too bad this wasn't the problem then... ;) Once you have the application running, try pointing the Omnia camera at the test markers' pdfs that are mentioned on those respective pages. It should work better when you have them printed, but I tested it on my laptop's LCD and it worked fine. Note that the pdfs should probably be displayed at 100% size, as otherwise the pattern won't get recognized... :) Edited July 26, 2009 by Bouvrie
Guest eufouria Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I have 3.5, and perhaps even 3.7 if that possible?
Guest Darthlord Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) There is a good augmented reality game called Kweekies being developed for WinMo http://www.int13.net/ Its been a while after the last news, think that maybe it will never be released =/ Edited July 26, 2009 by Darthlord
Guest jason07 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Those test apps both work great for me. Obviously you have to be pointing the camera at the image on the .pdf doc to see the animals/warrior dude.
