(If it helps i use my phone for ususal phone/txting/ email/ gmail calendar - gmail / some googlemaps / mobile internet and Igo) Thanks I really like HERO's finger friendly interface , integrated apps , i really like android e.t.c. , but WM is more costomizible , there are more apps for it. If you whant a stable nice looking and simple phone choose HERO If you whant hightly customizible, with a lot apps to download and roms to flash keep Omnia (or buy Omnia II Diamond II or any other new WM device) :) Edited July 24, 2009 by smilegod
Guest lorin.bute Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I'm very tempted by the HERO. But smilegod has a point. The device itself is great, the software and the community needs to be mature enough to be a clear drive for me to buy it.
Guest bobobird Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Suggest you read the reviews first about it poor overall performance. HTC have a habit of using a cpu that is not quite capable of handling the functions of its phones.
Guest Zealster Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I would just for that game "Parallel Universe." That game looks amazingly awesome. I really wish they'd come out with a WM version though, because it looks quite fun to play.
Guest geeky Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Suggest you read the reviews first about it poor overall performance. HTC have a habit of using a cpu that is not quite capable of handling the functions of its phones. I am a bit worried about the poor cpu performance, but i figure it cannot be much different to my omnia (which sometimes is painfully slow). Im not into mega customisation - ROM flashing etc (mostly as i run linux on everything and its too much hastle to flash roms without windows). Im also hoping that as im not bothered for facebook or twitter on my phone that the cpu should be able to cope with my demands. I am hoping that android will have a larger community soon, I would miss some of the excellant WM applications that are around but I cannot help but think that unless MS pull out something special WM is a dieing platform. I guess i need a "hands on" myself to work it out, i was lucky with omnia, i ordered it without every touching one and was not let down, although i still find the speed / screen frustrating sometimes. (I have never worked out why the messaging application gets bigger everytime you recieve or delete a message but if you stop it and restart it ends up at 400k instead of 3.5mb!).

Guest Cbroph Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I think I'll stick with my Omnia, this persuaded me: http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/23/htc-hero-review/
Guest geeky Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Im going to try and get hands on with one, only way i will now for real. I just cant see it being any more laggy than an omnia with a few applications running. I am not bothered about running faceparty, but just have had it with my touchscreen on the omnia not responding as i would like. Thanks for the input, i will report back on what i end up with!
Guest new2city Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 me, I am keeping an eye on Andromnia... :)
