Garmin XT 5.0 space problem

Hello,

I recently installed Garmin XT. My Main memory was 40 MB prior to installing. Now it has become 8 mb. While installing I had selected Storage card as an option. BTW I need to thank Modaco for the brilliant post on Garmin software installation.

Could u advice how to improve the space on phone.

I have a Verizon Omnia I910 and I have Garmin XT and IGO 8 on mine. Both are installed to My Storage and I still have 54MB on my system memory. Are you running a stock ROM? If so you may want to look at the custom Roms. They clear out alot of space and make the phones great. I am Running BW's v1.2 night rom (it will be 1.3.....1.4....ect.) Also, For both programs I removed the maps, buildings, ect for any area that I will never go to. I saved them on my PC so if for any reason I go there I can just load them.

I have installed the software on my storage card.

There is the garmin XT software which is one install and the maps are a separate install. you can install one in one place and the other somewhere else. The maps are huge in comaparison to the XT software. Check that there is no gmapsupp (or other gmap...) files in the garmin folder on the main memory.
