Samsung keyboard , i hate it, it can only be used with stylus ;) , 0 finger friendly

ScreenShot1-1.jpg

Samsung keypad, the one i use everyday, i like the size of the keys, i can write pretty fast with t9 on and my saved words

ScreenShot2.jpg

Samsung phonepad, this used to be my favorite because of the gentle size of the keys

ScreenShot4-1.jpg

Resco keyboard, i dont like it at all, keys are way too small, there's really few symbols to use, a bad iphone copy in my opinion , i know there are other skins out there, but the size of the keys is even smaller :)

Finger keyboard, i LOVE it , has a lot of symbols, easy access to symbols like www, !!! emoticons and it covers the oddly placed send button ... too bad the keys are really small , so i dont really use it, in a phone with a screen of 3.5/3.7 should me amazing!

Touchpal, this is one is weird, it wont write the text if you're using t9, u have to choose a selection of words, it doesn't vibrate =/

I have the following Resco and TouchPal KB installed and change over :-

- Resco keyboard - simple and nice. use as my default unless i need copy/paste and work-prediction, then i switched over to Touchpal.

- Finger Keyboard lacks the above and takes more space.

I use Shokka's black keyboard, which does look similar to the Resco keypad.

I use a modified Samsung Keyboard, the one by Shokka with the full spacebar at the bottom in landscape. I've always had good results from it.

I use Touchpal; found it to have more features and less buggy than fingerkeyboard (like that square in the top left corner that never goes away! Urgh.)

Vibration - this is easily fixed with Snailslug Touchresponse (have a look over at XDA).

To my opinion, the first one I use is TouchPal V4 and the second one is Finger Keyboard, I love both (with a preference for TouchPal V4).

I asume u meant, word prediction, can u write with resco beyboard without stylus? or u use in landscape? in portrait is IMPOSSIBLE for me

TouchPal is what I use - innovative and you can type very fast once you learn how to use it.

it wont write the text if you're using t9, u have to choose a selection of words

You can actually just press space and it will auto select the highlighted word without having to touch it.

Being able to slide up or down to change case/select symbols is so cool, that's what I missed most when I try other SIPs.

Also being able to slide right or left to select the character on the T+ layout is much better then having to double tap like other similar layouts.

The vibration is a bummer, but as someone pointed out TouchResponse fixes that.

SPB Keyboard. Hand down the best keyboard I have used. In landscape (and portrait) you can go full screen with the keys. Makes texting MUCH easier.

im REALLY surprised with the amount of people who like the samsung keyboard ( full qwerty) , the space key is sooooo small and besides its so uncomfortable to try to select the "to" and "subject" options

I actually prefer the Samsung keypad to type on but it annoys the hell out of me that I have to go to a new menu to get something simple like a full stop or the @ symbol.

I do like the features of some of the other keyboards where you have gestures and the like but I find them difficult to type on.

I know that touchpal has a similar keyboard setup to the samsung keypad but I have never been able to get it to run properly on my phone.

I don't like having to go to landscape just to be able to use the keyboard on my phone so I am gonna stick with the Samsung one for now.

Hi all Omnia-Fans!

This is a nice poll and i believe if this poll was started 3 or 4 months before the result would be quite different.

I voted for Touchpal (Version 4) but for me its a Head-to-Head-Race between FingerKeyb 2.1 and Touchpal 4.0!

Both Keyboards have a nice Layout and a nice "Feeling". FingerKeyb has some very usefull Cursor-Buttons always visible and some other nice 2nd-Keymappings just like Web-Shortcuts, Smilies and foreign-language-characters. Touchpal 4 comes with innovative Functions for example writing capital Letters. I used FingerKeyb 2 since its release and was very happy with it but since 2 Weeks iam using Touchpal 4.0. It has Cursor, Smilie and foreign-language-Buttons too but they are not always visible (but fast reachable). If you want to try Touchpal 4.0, be sure that you need some days of training to use it fast. But after some days of use you will agree that its very simple and fast.

My Touchpal 4.0 and SMS-Chat:

Download the Touchpal 4.0 - Skin @ XDA-Dev

For those who are wondering whats the difference between Touchpal and the other Keyboards i made a small Example-Picture:

touchpalexample.jpg

For me, the Problem with the Samsung-Keyboard is that its missing some Buttons like Cursors, Copy/Paste and its very difficult for use with foreign-language-characters. Sometimes you have to click trough 5 or 6 pages until you can write a special-character. For english-only users it might be a good Keyboard.

I like the HTC Keyboards with the 2 letters to one button, much like Samsung's Keypad but more intuitive. I find that I text way faster on my HTC Touch. With the Omnia I'm like a snail that makes many mistakes. Not sure if it works with the Omnia though. I'd be glad if someone could correct me.

Of the default keyboards that came with the phone I liked the Samsung keyboard best, but now I use SPB keyboard as default because it is finger friendly, can type Japanese and got rid of the annoying "not able to type in Opera" and "keyboard popping up randomly when not wanted" problems.

Hi guys,

I'm wondering what keyboards are you guys using for texting.

Anyone tried SPB keyboard or have any other keyboards to recommend?

What do you think we use our keyboards for? But yes, I have tried SPB keyboard and personally I like it, for the reasons I described in my post above. I have small fingers, so I may not be the best person to judge finger friendliness, but if full screen + landscape sounds good to you then give SPB a try. I think you can download a free trial from their website. Also see jmoore4294's post above.

SPB keyboard is pretty decent, i've been using it for a long time. the best feature is full screen mode in landscape. I'd say along with original Omnia qwerty keyboard with pop up keys it's my top 2 choices - i've tried them all.

I'm still inclined to assume that the only thing that will make the typing easy and error free is 4.3" capacitive WVGA screen...there are no miracles, you can't solve physical space issues with software

If you mean the black skin, you can download skins from SPB's website:
