Guest spaghetina Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Up until a couple weeks ago, I was able to record videos without issue. I haven't changed anything, loaded anything, or deleted anything, but all of a sudden, whenever I record a video, and then hit the stop button, I get "Unable to read this file...", and the file will not play. I'm saving them to my storage card as .mp4's, and the card still has a little over 7 gigs of space remaining, so it's not a storage issue. I've tried saving videos to "my storage" instead of the storage card, and I'm still experiencing the same issue. The phone is working fine as a camera, and I can't think of anything I could have possibly done or changed since it stopped working. Anyone have any ideas on what the issue could be? I missed out on recording my niece's 1st birthday because I didn't know the video function was malfunctioning. :)

Guest spaghetina Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 try with other players to play the video, should work. I tried playing it with CorePlayer directly on the phone, but that didn't work. Then, I tried uploading the videos to my computer and playing them through The KMPlayer, which should handle .mp4s without issue, and that didn't work either. It almost seems like there's some kind of file or setting missing in the video recording portion of the registry or something, but since I know nothing about registries or what could possibly be missing, I have no idea how to go about fixing it. Of course, that's just my own speculation. It could be something really simple that I'm missing too, lol.
Guest whitj Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Sorry if it is a bit off topic, but how do you choose to save it as .mp4? mine save as .3gp and I don't know how to change it

I think mine defaulted to .mp4, and looking through the camera settings, I can't see anywhere to change it either.
Guest whitj Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 lol, weird. Anyone know how to convert the files?
Guest spaghetina Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 I guess this isn't a common issue? Does anyone know which registry files are associated with the video portion of the camera or what files should be there? Or common settings, or any of that stuff that might help me to narrow down what's causing this issue?
