Hello,

I have been experiencing a few issues with WIFI on my Omnia.

I have my phone set to turn the LCD off after a minute of inactivity. When I have WIFI on I find that 9 times out of 10 the phone will lock up. The screen will go blank and I am unable to get it back on no matter what I do and when i use another phone to call my mobile, there is no sound or anything coming from my phone though the calling phone shows that the phone is ringing..

Also, when the phone is working and it managed to turn the LCD off without locking up it seems to spring back into life itself (which I think is on WIFI activity)

Anyone else have these issues?

Do you have SRS WOW HD installed? It sometimes causes these problems... What ROM are you using? What apps do you have installed :)

Hi,

I am using MSHJ1 with no extra applications installed.

I am in the UK on O2 and my handset is currently unlocked and unbranded.

I have it sitting beside me at the moment. I don;t have Messenger running but WIFI is on. Its switching the LCD off after a minute as it should but then switching itself back on within 3-4seconds, then it goes off after a minute then back on after 3-4seconds. Very irritating and probably not good for the screen components.

It will reach the stage where it will go to sleep and then lock up without me realising! (which is the big issue)

Cheers

Update:

I flashed my ROM to DXIA5 (http://www.pspmyspace.com/omnia/2009/04/dxia5-official-clean-rom.html)

This seems to have solved the WIFI lockup issue and has improved the performance of the phone something crazy!! but I still find the phone waking itself up on WIFI activity. This is obviously a 'feature' but looks like something that might be disabled through the registry??

Anyone any thoughts??

Cheers
