thanks for sharing.

it's a neat idea, and something i'd wanted to see on my phone for a long time. one of the few things i'm envious of the iPhone for is it's music-making apps.

that said, caxixi clearly still is a beta.

the idea of shaking the phone to produce various percussive sounds is a neat one, but the feel of this app is far from intuitive.

for one thing, there's a noticable lag in the response of the sounds. not a huge one, but enough to make real-time performance of anything faster than a funeral dirge impossible.

for another, there's noticable buffer underruns when playing back a sequenced loop. i constructed a simple loop of kick, snare and hihat and instantly the phone was overwhelmed (running adryn's 3.0 with MS3 on top). nasty, nasty distortion and artifacts. i know it wasn't amplitude based distortion because i turned the volume all the way down to 1.

sadly, this is one area where the iPhone's non-multitasking architecture serves it well. although the omnia's CPU power should be more than sufficient, it seems as though the work of running winmo's many, many background processes as well as caxixi is just too much for it.

and there are NO electronic sounds at all except for the hihat! what the hell is that, samsung? you give us a drum machine that can't sound like a drum machine? i like cabasas and triangles as much as the next guy, but for a product that's only available in the US and europe, you'd think your sounds might be oriented a little more toward rock, hiphop and techno - the music that people in the US and europe actually listen to!

anyway, it's a great idea, i'm glad they did it, and i hope they continue to improve upon it.

Great App! I have seen applications like this just for iphone.

This apps works perfectly without winmo bugs and works smoothly. although I think more sounds should be added...

You should have tried to download it at least.

I have an i900 from somewhere in SE Asia (I think it's from Singapore) but the download worked fine from the Samsung site. I don't even get how it's restricted... I saw the warning, but it's just an open link to a good old CAB file, not sure how they intended to keep non-US/Europe people out but they failed. :)

Think this actually means that will just work on Omnias form US and Europe(most probably because the asiatic one differs too much in some things from ours)

I get an error saying "Can't find PInvoke DLL 'SamsungMobileSDK_1.dll' "

What are you talking about? Like I said right above it will work for anyone since I'm in Canada with an Asian i900 and it worked perfectly fine for me.

Asian Omnias are the same as Europe, the North American version is the one that's different.
