Hi All,

I load mp3's and jpg's on my sd card, but am unable to play or read them using inbuilt aps? Whats going on? I am loading them as is on the Orange-provided card (still with all the Orange stuff on it)

where you reading from? have you put them in the correct folders?

Put the jpeg in "my pictures" folder, not in subfolder as picture manager can't see it.

Put the songs anywhere in the card, WMPlayer will pick it up. Best to put them in a "my music" folder

Might want to check you have the lock set to off

Re-insert the card. Mine used to fail reading after a day's use. Re-incert and all fine... Try using explorer to check the files and run the file from explorer.

OK, got the pictures working, but when I paste an MP3 into the

"My Music" folder of the card, I pop it in the phone and nothing! When I remove it at pop it back into the laptop (I have an inbuilt SD card reader), the file has been removed?!?!?!?

format the card and copy files back to it. that should solve it.

Ok, I have formated on WinXP and popped it back in the SPV. It then came up with the option to format it on the phone itself which I did successfully. I pop it back in my laptop, paste a couple of jpg's onto the card, pop it back in the phone. Then I navigate to Picture Manager, it can't read a thing and just displays "manage pictures" screen. I take the SD card out again and pop it back in the laptop - all the images have been wiped???? Weird?

It seems that there's a problem with your card reader. If I format the card in WinXP it reads that perfectly in SPV and does not ask for another 'format'. So it looks like your phone and PC work with different filesystems?? Surely though WinXP formats it to FAT....

Incompatible type of formatting?

Ok this is very strange. Thought I would try testing the card first.

Its plugged into the laptop and its coming up on WinXP as F: drive. I can go into it just like any other drive and copy files to it. I first created some directories and a 1Kb text file. I ejected it from the laptop, waited a little while and put it back in - all the directories and files are still there. Then I put a file the size of about 200Kb on it, ejected it - put it back in 2 min later and everything is still there EXCEPT the file of 200Kb??? What the hell is going on?

That seems very unusual. So it won't work in your PC either?

Thanks,

O card is only 6.1mb when formatted, so if you still have all orange stuff on it, then maybe there's just not enough space?? how does it read 1kb file on SPV?

Just a tip, you don't need to put music in the My Music folder to play in in WMP, nor images in IA Album, only for images and sounds in the two programs released with the update.
