Guest BlacKICcE Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 I don't know if anyone implmented this idea yet or not ... the idea is like this .. suppose you are on a bus on your way home.. and you are so tired .. want to get some sleep ... so you pick up your Omnia .. set the position (your home+ 5km radios or so) .. and go to sleep... whenever you are on 5km radios from your home ... Alarm clock will ring !! its really useful... anyone knows if there's a program like this... or anyone interested in developing this app ? (based on google map.. or something)
Guest darkside80 Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 You must live in a car to get a gps lock. And cary around a car battery to contantly charge the omnia with gps enabled.

The problem is not GPS, that uses about as much as the GSM radio in standby. It is the GPS applications, like Garmin XT, that chew battery. So a simple GPS application should not be an issue.
Guest necosino Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 BAF GPS toggle uses less than 8% of your battery after 6 hours of use :)
