Sadly came with no actual cashback paperwork or contract ( or handsfree kit!) and been on hold the last hour - but this doesn't seem correct?...typo on their part? Why state the cost of the line rental t the half price level? It's not permenantly half price! M.S
Guest Mysterious Stranger Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 After 1hr 30 in the q got through to someone...their version of the confirmation email forwarded to me has the line rental at the correct price and no mention of the free headset or half price line rental deal... looks like it's going back unopened then! Shan't get another phone from them - seems a bit amateurish - if I was cynical I'd suggest the long wait times are designed to encourage you not to bother complaining or returning stuff... M.S

P Yeah, their IVR does mention that. Think they're based in Watford - any bad outbreaks of swine flu there? Should I dissinfect the phone - no seal on the box..packaging is impressively minimalist. But you'd think as part of carphone whorehouse they could route calls to a different call centre. Guy I spoke to was friendly enough ( and gave his personal email addy to contact him either way on friday re the headset) but 1 + 1/2 hours on hold and no cashback claim details in the box seem a little fly by night despite their parent company ( not the whitest of white co's either - anyone here with talktalk?) I used the modaco code too - did you get it on orange? mobiles.co.uk handsets aren't locked and not orange branded so ideal for us handset / network tarts - 3 sim going straight in once I decide to keep it or not... The deal has changed a little online now - only 6 months 1/2 price not 8. Need to get back into Android and was hoping this would do it for me. TBH got a bit bored of the G1's lack of apps or exchange functionality but HTC are supposed to have sorted an exchange client now. Still got a sealed G1 with the launch rom on it. Must get around to so me hacking... As an aside - you seen what you get simply for topping up with 3 now? 300 texts, 150mb valid for 90 days, free calls to 3 mobiles and free skype. And that doesn't touch your credit! And they queue after each topup so you get the full allowance. Seems like a winner to me. M.S

Problems with taking money from me for a phone it turned out they didnt have then having to chase up to get the money back, sure there was something else too but cant remember now, wiped it from my mind. its got to be an excuse to blame it on illness as when i had my problems porky the pig had never heard of the flu

M.S Yup, Orange.... missus loves her G1, so she's gonna have a play with the Hero and see if she likes it before she opens the SIM, and return it if she doesn't. I'll video and photo it in the process too... :) She might miss the QWERTY, we'll see! The 3 deals look plain mental now, barely a reason to BE on a contract aside from shiny new devices...? P

Well, no headset, so it's going back. I know it's a £15 thing but it's the principal - they shouldn't promise stuff they don't deliver... M.S
