Apparently my (almost) new Touch HD doesn't have the most recent version of MS .NET Compact Framework. So it won't run the mToolbox app.

Boo! How annoying. Is there a quick fix to update the .NET Compact Framework?

Thanks argh :)

In case anyone else is scuppered by the lack of Microsoft's installation instructions, the package linked to above is for the PC. Once installed on the PC, ActiveSync the mobile device (assuming XP) and the necessary cab will be installed on the device.

If, like me, you download and install the package directly to the device, it won't work and you'll just waste 30-odd Mb of your mobile data. This is not made clear by the download site and when looking for the Compact Framework for the device I assumed it would install directly. Twit.

Sorry about that. I don't think that MS distribute a standalone cab file, but it can be found by googling, or just searching XDA developers. They seem hosted on rapidshare/megaupload etc. though, so you never know what kind of things the cab file might contain ;)

I haven't looked for one recently as the ROMs I flash usually contain it now.

No probs mate - no idea who MS think they're providing instructions for! I mean, I'm not exactly a n00b at these things and even I got flummoxed (sp?).

Thanks again ;)
