Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) Hello everyone. I'm starting this topic in the hopes that there are other people out there who are part of the small percentage of the cellular world known as CDMA users. Other people, who have the i910 Samsung Omnia, want to see Android ported over to their device. The current problem is that the GSM and CDMA chipset are different, and the current andromnia project supports only the GSM chipsets. I am requesting for people to work together, along with myself, who would like to see the project have a CDMA branch as well. Post any info that could help further the development. So far, what I've gathered is the following: CDMA Chipset: Qualcomm MSM6800A Big thanks to http://www.phonewreck.com/wiki/index.php?t...sung_Omnia_i910 for the following specs/information! (Visit the wiki above. It has picture diagrams that are really detailed.) Guest eufouria Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 I too am eager to see progress on this project, I fear I can't help much in coding but will gladly donate. I have already donated to androidomnia.com, but naively thought they would include i910 drivers.
Guest muskamj Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 I just joined in on all the Andromnia fun a few days ago. I'm new to this kind of thing, so I don't know how much help I can be, but I'll be up for testing anything. Hopefully this project progresses as quickly as the GSM one did.
Guest eTronic Gaming Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 Just registered www.cdmandroid.com Check the site in the upcoming week for a donate system/website. I'm going to work a lot on it this coming week (since I won't be working). Also, PM me if you are interested in helping! :) Glad to see there are people besides me who want to see this become a reality.
Guest cheifkeiff Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I too am down to help as much as I can I want to get this on my phone so bad!!!!

Guest eTronic Gaming Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Thanks for the help guys. Have a lot of work with school, but I finished setting up a blog on www.cdmandroid.com, so I'll keep some stuff updated over there. -eTg-
Guest eufouria Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) Terrific, I will be subscribed to this thread + bookmarked www.cmdandroid.com Edited November 18, 2009 by eufouria
Guest dragonriot Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Thanks for the help guys. Have a lot of work with school, but I finished setting up a blog on www.cdmandroid.com, so I'll keep some stuff updated over there. -eTg- Cross posting a bit here... I just finished googling the MSM6800 chipset... Apparently, just about every Verizon Wireless Broadband card, Blackberry, HTC, Omnia, etc., all use the same MSM6800 chip. If any of them have linux as an OS, we can pull the drivers from that to get it to work on the Omnia...
Guest eTronic Gaming Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Hm, thanks dragonriot. The new HTC phone and even the Droid have MSM6800 chip. I'll look into that, as they both run Android.
Guest JDawg183 Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 The Droid has now been rooted, does that help at all?
