Blurry contacts photos

As the title says I've assigned photos to some of my contacts. I know the quality of the pics are fines as I use the exact same pics for my TD2. However when I make or receive a call from the contact, the picture displayed is very blurry, not clear at all.

I know that with the TD2 & all the previous WM phone I had I had to assign the picture to the contact using a different app (e.g. S2U2, etc) than the HTC in built one. Is that the case with the Hero? If so which app should I use?

I have no answer. I have noticed that this has only happened to me since the 2.73 upgrade.

Before the upgrade the pictures were crisp but now they seem to be very low quality. I wonder if this may have something to do with 'speeding ' the page up if it only has to load smaller file sizes.

Just a thought.

i'd the same issue with earlier original rom,

after update to the latest rom,its almost 95% better quality now!!

go upgrade your rom :)

I have 2.5.1 and this issue's been present since my original stock rom....

I've been researching and I'm pretty sure this isn't a ROM issue.

Paul can you correct me if I'm wrong??

Is there anything you can do to fix this small annoyance in 2.7!!?

well as i said in my case,i had the problem first,but then after latest generic update its far better convincing!

so sounded to me rom update case,but as u say it isnt,..wonder what the issue it is!

When your adding a contact it asks for photo and it automatically puts a box around thee face but when you click on the box to resize it zooms in and that is why your getting poor res pictures. Just accept the box which the phone auto puts round their face and its fine then

The reason for this is the following:

The moment you assign a photo as a contact photo it is good quality, but as you might have noticed; the photo also yncs with your google account (the contacts there). There the photo gets downscaled by google, and this image is the image your phone will use after a update or when you deleted the original photo.

EVERYONE with a Hero should add a reply to the Google thread, maybe it'll get fixed quicker!!!
