Guest AhmadMR Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Hi... Everyone Recently the screen is not reading my touches correctly, specially if the touches were on the right side... When I took the phone to the dealer he said it is the touch digitizer and it will cost me about 150$ to repair!!! When I googled it I found the price of the digitizer is between 10$ - 30$ only, so it is a big ripoff! My old digitizer is of a good one, because it responses to my slightest touches (Has also the 8GB logo on top of it), and I want to have a one like it... Where can I have one of those?? Thank you in advance... and waiting for answer!

Go to Start - Settings - System - Screen - Align Screen And follow it through with the stylus. Be VERY accurate.

I' have tried screen re-alignment several times with different styluses (Thin and Thinner) but same thing happened, also changed to several roms with the same mis-alignment. I have read the (How to mount a new Touch panel on OMNIA) pinned topic, but I didn't found the digitizer with 8GB logo on it at the mentioned stores... Any Help? Edited August 12, 2009 by AhmadMR
Guest eufouria Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 I too am looking for solely the digitizer with a capaticty written in the corner. The best optino I have yet to come across was provided by a1m80t; http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-SAMSUNG-i900-...%3A1%7C294%3A50 But it requires purchasing an entire housing.
Guest AhmadMR Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) I've looked to the one you mentioned, eufouria, and it has the Vodafone logo, which is not what I want! I want an unbranded one with just 8GB logo and of course SAMSUNG logo... Also I want it to be one of the new high sensitivity for touches digitizers... (I know,I know... too many demands :) ) Edited August 12, 2009 by AhmadMR

If anyone knows where to find an unbranded 8/16gb digitizer please let us know!

There is a difference in the touch response of the new screens. It looks like several dealers now have plain black and black with "SAMSUNG". Didn't see any with 8 or 16 on them. Ron...
Guest finaldestiny Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Mine has/had the same problem as the original poster. For me, what helps is to use the stylus and vigorously rub the screen in the area that's misbehaving. HARD. Tapping it very hard in the area helps as well, I don't know if the resistive cells aren't contacting properly or need stimulating, I'm really not sure why it works for me but it does. Also don't worry about breaking the screen, it's surprising (excuse the pun) resistive.
Guest AhmadMR Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 I see the number of requests for the same demand is rising! :D But unfortunetlly still no one has found any "original" touch digitizer... I'm still looking for one using google and ebay... Hope some one will find a one and tell all of us!

Remember, the early Omnias did not have 8 or 16 on them. What isn't original to your eye??? Ron...
Guest steff195 Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 I bought 2 digitizers from ebay, from 2 different sellers, both with Samsung logos on them, both worked better than my original digitizer found on my phone, and both lost their sensitivity in time. Now I have my Vodafone branded digitizer back... it works way better than the ones bought from ebay. But I'm still searching... :D
Guest siansmobiles Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Hi all, I have proper 100000% original digitizers in!! Guest AhmadMR Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 For me: I still did not found the "original" 8GB Samsung I900 digitizer and still looking, but the problem now is much better since I used cooked roms (to be precise: PDhee roms) It seems that I will send my phone to the dealer after all! but before that I'm waiting for WinMo 7 devices so I can buy one of them before repairing the Omnia.
Guest h8isgr8 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 I bought a i900 digitizer on ebay for $9.95. It fits my i910 perfectly and works just as good, if not better, than the original. The only text on it is "Samsung". Here is the item number for the one I bought..... 120503159584
