Backing up old ROm

I have the i900 Omnia on the original ROM from Australia, is there a way to back this original firmware before i re-flash for 6.5, just in case some apps don't agree with 6.5 or it stuffs up. ive looked around the forums but i did not notice any way of somehow dumping the original rom from the phone to a flash file on the comp, any help or pointers would be appreciated.
