Omnia i900 Problem

Hey all

I got omnia i900 16GB , it's very laggy and slow, It's not fast enough as i though it takes time in opening the menu and scroll the widgets,Is there a fix for this problem,My friend got Iphone and it's alot faster than omnia i900 and the touch senstivity is alot better :D

short answer: no.

long answer: The iphone is only runing it's basic operating system, where as the touchWiz interface is an additional overlay to the windows operating system. You will always see lags when comparing Windows Mobile to iphone, but the touchWiz magnifies the problem. Firstly, you should look into upgrading you ROM. The newer WM6.5 ROMs have much more finger friendly functions built into the basic operating system, so there is less need to overlay interfaces like touchWiz.

You wont be able to do much with the touch screen difference. The iphone has a capacitive touch while we have resistive touch screens. You can tinker with the settings to improve the calibration, but it wont be same as the iphone. If your screen is severly non-responsive - you can look at replacing the digitizor - there is a Sticky'ed thread in this forum discussing how to change the screen.

My ROM is DZIA5.I bought it 7 days ago from the samsung official seller My omnia is new so i don't think that i need the digitizer ,the touch screen is good and everything but sometimes it annoys me it get's lag like hell .

I am not application lover i don't install much applications on my device just .net 3.5 and facebook .

I installed the wm6.5 before but there is a lot of applications and stuff , All i need is fast , clean , and simple OS for omnia .

IF there is a wm6.5 just like the official one that would be cool .

I highly doubt that samsung will officially release wm 6.5 for the samsung omnia. I rather see it in the successor devices

Custom made ROMs, especially the ones with M2D are quite nice and fast. U should try them... they ll improve your omnia quite remarkable

The thing that most improved my screen's sensitivity are these two registry values...

HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Touch\Click --> I set this to 2300

HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Touch\DownUp --> I set this to 50

Search for PHM Registry Editor if you want a free way to do this. :D
