Guest Paul Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 If like me you use a mac primarily, or just have no use for 'HTC Sync', you can reclaim the space and get rid of the annoying notification by doing the following (your device must be rooted); adb remount adb shell rm /system/app/PCSCII*[/code] Job done! :D P
Guest tone-fu Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I've tried this and keep getting the message: remount failed: Operation not permitted I'm running a rooted Hero. Is there anything I'm missing here? Cheers :D

Guest rhedgehog Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 worked flawlessly to get rid of Mail, Sync, Learn more and a few widgets that i don;t use. Cheers Paul, spot on as usual!
Guest CombinedEffort Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Nice one - little point in HTC Sync if you're running Linux, too!
Guest James Munnelly Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Thanks for this! Worked straight away! :)
Guest sveintore Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Does this remove the exchange support, or only the USB windows-sync?
Guest Igniztion Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 It removes the Windows sync afaik. The Exchange sync is handled in the Mail app. If you're unsure, you could just use adb pull to store the files on your computer, then delete them from the phone. If it breaks exchange sync then just push them back.
