Guest Coolchedder Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) I searched the forums and have not seen any questions for this possible issue / noob question. I recently got my HTC Hero and have noticed that when ever I receive a text message/ SMS and MMS they become all grouped together like they are from the same contact but they are not. I open my received messages and i have 4 message from what looks like one contact but in fact i have a total of 4 message from 3 - 4 different contact. Also when I reply it gets sent to the all the contact in that thread. Any Ideas? :D Im desperatly looking for any solution. P.S. My Hero is rooted and the problem was occurring prior and after the root Edited August 17, 2009 by Coolchedder
Guest kam187 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I remember people complainaing about this on xda-developers. You might want to have a search there if they found a solution. You might want to try chompsms (free from market) as a replacement for now. Most people actually prefer it to the native app.

I actually reported it to HTC North America support and I just replied to them with more detail and a screen shot so i will try the ChompSMS while they look into the situation. And I really appreciate the reply. Your the only reply i have received in 2 weeks about the issue.

Ahh yeah i just found the thread I had read and tou posted in it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547458 The main 'hero' sub group seems to get alot more replies, you should post there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=510 Anyway good luck! (Aparently there's a new update in 10 days, and a major one in mid september!)
Guest patzek Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 Its possible that this is a problem with special characters in Messages or Sendernames. The Messages are stored in an Database file an there exists a lot of Triggers and so on that fills other tables with informations when a new mail is inserted. Like an SQL Injection its possible that the queries do that that what they should do. With enough skills with databases its possible that you find the problem in the Messagedatabase..
