i900 usb failure ??

I completely flattened my battery the other day, and the only way to get it to charge again was via the travel adapter (I have since found that this is a known issue and there is a hotfix CAB that can fix it).

...back to the actual problem....

Anyway after i charge up the phone . . .

I connect my i900 to my pc (running XP sp3) to sync it up via activesync (4.5) but nothing happens, no lights on phone, no action from Laptop to say it has a usb device connected.

Another guy at my work has the 8gb version (Mine is a 16gb one), and i borrowed his cable to see it the issue laid there - same thing happens (Nothing), his phone connects fine, lights up etc.., mine just sits there. I checked the USB setup in settings and they are both set the same.

I know the port works (to some degree) - because I can charge it with the travel charger, listen to music etc through the headphones.

I have tried a hard reset, removing usb ports on laptops, new laptops etc but have had no success. I am thinking that the issue must lay with the port itself (or the software used to control the port) - does anyone have anything else that could be tried?

UPDATE : -sending back to purchase point for warranty repair - (wonder how it will go)

I will tell u how i cure this problem.

1. Disconnect all usb from ports!!!

2. Shut down ur pc/nb (Not restart!!!!)

3. Start ur pc (with no any usb attach!!!)

4. Everythings OK

So it turns out the unit was stuffed and they could not repair it. 4 months later, and I now have a new phone ;)

still an omnia i900, but this little sucker is running a treat ;)
