Guest FurryPotato Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) Ok, I am now officially going insane. I just cant get HTC Sync to detect/connect to my Hero. As a result I cant do any rooting/nandroid backup etc either. I'm using T-Mobile G2 on Windows 7 (32bit) I've installed the latest version of HTC Sync. Now first time I did this it was without internet connection and it could not find drivers to install. Now I've got internet then I see it looking for , downloading and then installing drivers. But even after reset HTC Sync never seems to see my phone. And I've tried ticked the 'usb debugging' mode but no difference. I've tried using an older version of the drivers too (I think from Paul on a different thread) but no difference. Anyone else had problems with solutions ? EDIT: Well, adb and fastboot seem to work now ok even though htc sync still wont :D Doing a test nandroid backup as we speak. If all goes well then I'll be doing a factory reset and then a backup (I'm sure there are a few people out there who would find a T-Mobile G2 default rom backup useful) Then maybe rooting time  Edited August 23, 2009 by FurryPotato
Guest rhedgehog Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Probably not the answer you are looking for, but it is the finest piece of advice i can give you... Don't use HTC Sync You don't need HTC Sync for using adb and fastboot anyway, and you are better off backing up all your contacts/calendar/etc to google anyway. I haven't even installed HTC Sync and yet can happily root, nandroid backup and all the rest.
