i tried this on sector's latest rom.. no difference so far.. possibly sector's rom is already pretty good on sensitivity.. plus you missed out devicemap in your post above..

I tried, nothing changed, still less good than with the iphone...

I think the updown thingy has to be reduced for better sensitivity, but click, i changed it to 3500 from 2000 and it is much much better, no where near iphone, but much better, a lot less pressure is needed than it used to. But i am sure it is better, maybe not that much cause my screen is getting worse and worse cause the middle needs a lot more pressure than other parts of the screen and i have to press harder and harder and this damages the screen every now or so even more as it already is, but none the less it has improved. Keep in mind that when u change that, u have to wait 30 seconds min and then make a soft reset or the change won't work.

downup should be set to a lower value. Mine's at 150 and working very well.

I can do everything with my fingers, except write messages, which i do with my finger nail, but i don't have to press hard, i have click on 3500 and downup at 100, works very well, except my semi ruined middle of the screen. I can still use my finger but have to press a bit harder.

I had to send my i910 back in because i had to use my finger nail all the time your digitizer went bad from heat if it's still under warranty you can turn it in!

My screen has never given me any troubles. I changed a few reg value a while back which improved it very slightly (I think), but I've always been able to scroll/click with just a very light brush of the finger (no nail). Apparently the first Omnias came with sub-par digitizers, but there are new ones available on eBay. Have a look at the pinned topic - people have seen some really awesome results by replacing their screens... and you'll get rid of scratches too! :D

Sorry for this long post, but wanted to share what I've learned about improving scrolling on my Omnia. First, I really dont think that the UpDown and Click registry settings impact touch sensitivity per se; the hardware digitizer panel determines this. As best I can figure, the registry settings control the delays before touch events occur -- so they affect responsiveness but not sensitivity.

The UpDown setting specifies the wait time (in milliseconds) between the moment your finger touches the screen and when the screen 'unlocks' to begin scrolling. So increasing this value just makes things worse! Like others, I currently run mine at 150 with very good results. The screen feels much more responsive, because you don't have to wait as long for movement to begin. I have experimented with Click as well, but haven't found that it makes any difference that I could notice.

It sounds like some of you are still running 6.1 ROMs? If smooth finger scrolling is important to you, there's just no way it's going to happen with 6.1 because MS didn't include native kinetic scrolling in 6.1. The only exception will be certain third-party apps like Resco's File Explorer that provide their own scrolling as part of the application. But native WM 6.1 menus and apps like Messaging have no kinetic scrolling at all. Samsung apparemtly tried to work around this by layering its own scrolling functionality into the 6.1 ROMs, but it's pretty awful (it's the feature that causes jerky one-lline-at-a-time scrolling, accompanied by loud clicking noises).

In WM 6.5, MS finally introduced true smooth kinetic scrolling system-wide. It's a huge improvement vs. 6.1. The only problem is that the cooked 6.5 ROMs necessarily use the original Samsung 6.1 ROMs as a starting point. Thus, the weird Samsung scrolling is still present -- and it completely overrides the goodness of the new kinetic scrolling. :D Several of us discovered a secret months ago, which is to simply install FTouchSL but do not activate it. When you run the FTouchSL install, it deactivates the Samsung scroller, partly by replacing Samsung's touch driver DLL. Because you're never going to actually use FTouchSL, you don't need to buy it -- just install the trial copy from the FTouchSL website and forget about it. Most of the cooks now burn the FTouchSL trial right into their custom 6.5 ROMs, and also lower the value of UpDown to 150. But remember, this all applies only to WM 6.5, and not to 6.1.

The combination of 6.5's native scrolling with lowering the UpDown registry key value will give you awesome scrolling. You may still find it preferable to use a fingernail (I generally "flick" with the top of my nail, not the edge), but it now requires only the very lightest touch. if I use my fingertip, I have to press a lot harder. Once you've experienced native kinetic scrolling in 6.5, you'll never go back to 6.1 again!

Oh boy here we go again. It IS ALL in your heads OK? NOTHING can make the i900 ALL thumb touch operation with either 6.5 or 6.1 or even the so claimed digitizer. Only replacing with either O HD or 2 will ALMOST do it (better or like a few others Touch HD, X1 or iphone).

Can't wait for Stantum to use its patent in resistive phone screen. What the hell taking them forever :D ?
