Guest Makseg Posted August 24, 2009 Report Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Hello, everyone! Last Friday I bought Omnia from my operator. It was 100% not locked. PDA: i900XXHG7/NHHG7 PHONE: i900XXHG7 On my old HP notebook with Win XPP I've installed ActiveSync 4.5 and modem driver from Samsung off. site, used an USB cable that came with the phone. There was no USB 2.0 ports on it - only 2 USB 1 or 1.1 (i have not checked exactly). My other NB has Vista Business and some people has strongly andviced not to flash under Vista. I charged the phone to full. (BTW I have not charged it later thas evening. Do I had to charge it after each flash?) First i tried to flash it with one custom ROM based on i900DXID1 (WinMo 6.5). After flashing EBOOT phone restarted for the first time and stayed on OMNIA screen, but loader found it and continued flashing EBOOT (for another 2 progress bars) then it gave me an error "Checksum failed" on the red progress bar. Phone was still on OMNIA screen. Another attempt has the same results. I was able to fix it with service ROM with i900DTHJ6 (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zqtmymjaw2z). (on 4pda.ru it was under service ROM category). This ROM flashed normally and my phone was up again. Then I tried to flash some other DXxxx ROMs with GranPrix and original .exe - same error "Checksum failed". And every time I it was fixed by DTHJ6 ROM. Next I decided to change my region trough service code *#1546792*# (from "How to fix Incorrect Software Version"). Changed to Russia / MTS operator. After hard reset I tried to flash one custom DXID1 with GranPrix and my phone was bricked after first restart on EBOOT. Today my operator has replaced the phone with the new one. It has the same versions: PDA: i900XXHG7/NHHG7 PHONE: i900XXHG7 Please help - what I did wrong? Maybe I have to do something else first? Maybe the phone must have some minimal version prior to flashing it with DXID1 and its not possible to flash NHHG7 > DXID1. Thanks in advance for any help. Max. Edited August 24, 2009 by Makseg

I have read that you should only attempt to flash ro rhis ROM if you have usb 2.0, usb 1.0 is said to brick the device.

I've received my new Onmia nex day. Installed VmWare XPP on a Vista PC. Flashed normally without any errors. I think my problems was: - uncharged battery; - corrupt ROM file; - usb 1 at last; Thanks.
