Guest Tissaya Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Hi, I've had an Orange branded Omnia since February (Polish BKHH6 ROM). Somewhere in March my first BSOD (Blank/Black Screen of Death) occurred, and then I've had BSODs every few days. PDA went to service three times. First two visits ended with "device ok". Third time I sent it froze and received answer "device has a fault". Orange gave me a new Omnia. The only things I did to it was putting in an unused sim card, turning on Samsung Today 2 instead of standard home screen and creating six daily reminders firing at 19:00 (two), 19:01 (two) and 19:02 (two). Two days after doing this, about 19:00 Omnia froze. I suspected multiple reminders firing at once as a cause of my BSODs from a few weeks, and that was how I froze the Omnia before third service visit. And now I have a question, mainly to the people with BSOD problems, but to others as well: could you help me diagnose if multiple reminders are really a problem? If yes, maybe we can check if this is Omnia only, or WM6.1 fault... Or do I simply have second phone with the same hardware fault :D The test is simple: make a few daily reminders, like I did and wait a few days. Notice of warning though: if possible, do it on unused sim (I haven't tried it without sim), because from the time the BSOD occurs, you will lose all incoming calls. Phone won't ring (only a power led starts blinking) and no call will be written to missed calls. The only sign of life is this blinking led after an incoming call. Even if you connect Omnia to a charger, the led won't show it. If anyone is able to try, please post your results along with ROM you have. I'm particularly interested if WM6.5 ROMs have this problem. BTW - I tested it on DXIA5 as well (old Omnia) with same results. Thanks, Arek
