How to create 3 partitions for A2SD

Hi,

I've just installed the new custom rom and noticed it mentions it has A2SD installed in it for ext3. Am I missing something? A few people have said they have created a 200mb partition but I can't find anywhere to do this. What is ext2 and ext3 used for? And how do we create/use them?

Thanks for that. I'm gonna have a go at this tomorrow. Am I right in thinking that Pauls modified Rom will automatically use this Ext3 for A2SD?

BUT i have followed the above guide on setting up my sd card ready for modaco rom and app2sd and my hero wont boot and gets stuck on boot at the hero screen.

If i remove the sd card it still wont boot at have to reset and restore backup. have tried twice but the same.

I have also tried it after a factory reset.

im using a class6 8gb trancend

Did you follow the instructions right to the end? To where it gives instructions for upgrading your ext3 to ext4?

If yes...I'm really sorry but I kinda forgot that I had exactly the same problem. It works if you leave the partion as ext3. Really sorry, totally slipped my mind.

Probably worth starting again, removing the partitions and setting the up but only going to ext3 as Pauls rom uses ext3 and not ext4.

Then hopefully should be ok. I'm going to do mine tonight, so I'll let you know if it works for me.

Awsome its worked with ext2!!!!! now all i have to do is workout how to restore just my data from nandroid backup... ANyone?
