Class 2 & 4 are too slow, Class 6 has been proven bob on and been a good source we know these are not a cheap copy but a good branded unit. I got this link from XDA dev so qudos to them and the OP. Guest Stevie B Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I'm waiting for prices to come down on 16GB before bothering - my phone came with 8GB anyways.

There are *plenty* of class 2 and class 4 cards that work fine with the Hero. Ironically, class ratings don't tell you how fast the card is, they tell you its minimum speed. For class 6, this is 6mb/s, but there are absolutely loads of class 2 and class 4 cards that run well in excess of this speed. A good quality class 4 will often write at 11 or 12 mb/s, which more than double the class 6 minimum. You can expect that a good quality class 2 or class 4 will often outperform the class 6 minimum, whereas as poor quality class 6 will perform far closer to its minimum requirement. Before you buy a card, look for independent reviews where the actual speed has been tested and purchase accordingly. Just looking at the class rating may leave you disappointed if you end up replacing a "fast" class 2 with a "slow" class 6. Regards, Dave

Guest olumite Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Guys, I got an 8gb micro sdhc class 6 off ebay, but when it arrived it turned out to be a 32gb card! The card kept un-mounting by itself, so I assumed that it being 16gb beyond the maximum capacity things like this would happen. I was just about to arrange a refund with the ebay seller, and thought I look around for confirmation of the maximum compatible capacity. Loads of android forums say the max is 16gb, but kingston's website says its only 2gb?!? HTC Hero maximum compatible micro sd capacity Does anyone here have any other link that states the max capacity? cheers

Guest Higgsy Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 bummer price is now £14.49 in my experience transcend memory is excellent, I have it in both my laptops, 2xusb sticks and a 4/8gb miro sd already and have never had any problems.

Guest dwattsy21 Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I'm using Cache2SD, Apps2SD and am looking at setting up Davlik2SD. I've got a Class 4 8gb Card and see no performance loss at all. Actually I've noticed a performance boost from using the MoDaCo rom, Swapper, Apps2SD etc. I bought my 8GB card for my old N95 and did not know (at the time) about Class 2,4,6 etc. Anyone know of any good benchmarking software (Windows or Linux) that could be used to test the peformance of our cards? Though I suppose, an Android App that could measure tranfer rates whilst the card is installed would be better... For 15 quid, I may just pick one up so if anyone asks I can tell them I'm running a Class 6! :D I'm torn between two micro sd cards... this 8gb sandisk one class 6, 17 quid http://www.amazon.co.uk/SANDISK-MOBILE-MIC.../ref=pd_cp_ce_2 Or this 16gb transcend one, class 6, 50 quid Views please guys! Is transend guna be as good as Sandisk is my main thought
