Guest FelipeRRM Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 So check this out, I want to put a movie into my Omnia, it has free space, but I always get an error message, no matter if i´m in the Active Sync mode or "sotrage". And yes, i´m not copying it to the system thing.

Guest frmariam Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) I'm gonna take a guess: you have music files with album art in the tag in that drive and you use TouchPlayer... I had a similar issue in the past. When TouchPlayer scans for audio files it extracts the images from the tag. When it extracts from a bad tag (?!) the drive somehow becomes corrupt and won't let you place more files in it... Solution: Copy the data from the drive to the PC. Remove all album art (safest way... use a tag editor) or try to find the problematic file and fix it. Format the drive (use the USB Storage mode connection... not Active Sync). Send all files back to the drive. To avoid future similar issues avoid having album art in the tags... Hope it helps. Edited August 30, 2009 by frmariam
Guest FelipeRRM Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 Wow, but album arts are really interesting. The cable is connected into my Card Reader, which is connected in the MoBo´s USB ports, so I guess it´s not a HUB.

Try connecting your phone directly to the motherboard's USB ports, NOT via the card reader.
Guest frmariam Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) Can you paste stuff in that drive using the pda file manager? All album art does is take space (especially in this case since it's in the tag and as in image file in the drive... duplicate) but that's your call. Most likely only one file has a bad tag... The tag will show fine in a PC audio player so that won't help. 1- Backup your data to the pc and format the drive (I would use the USB connection rather tan the card reader...) 2- Place groups of musics in the pda and update the media list (import) in TouchPlayer. 3- Check if you can still paste any files. If you can't the problem file is in the drive so narrow it down. 4- After you detect the group delete all its music files (and the images generated from tag), copy the musics one by one to the pda and update the media list (import) in TouchPlayer. 5- Check again if you can paste any files. When you can't you got the file. 6- Edit the tag of the problematic file (delete the whole tag or just image and add a new one). 7- Copy the rest 8- You may have more bad tags so do this to the other files if needed I think I had a better method but can't remember since not having album art fixed this forever... This will take more time but should work. Good luck PS: You may want to save keep a copy of the problematic file and contact Samsung about this. Since your from Brasil (and if your ROM is in Portuguese) I'm guessing your drives are named "Cartão de memória" and "A minha memória" (give them this info too... I suspect bad unicode support may be related). Edited August 30, 2009 by frmariam

Guest frmariam Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) frmariam, I think he's trying to copy a movie file, not MP3s/audio. So, album art doesn't apply... Yes it does. The file type he's trying to paste there now doesn't matter. If I'm correct about the cause (and it's the same thing that happened to me and other portuguese users) it's the audio files already in the drive that caused this problem in the first place. The drive will act as full because of the issue. He'll need to fix it or he won't be able to place any kind of files in that drive. Edited August 30, 2009 by frmariam

Guest FelipeRRM Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 what I can´t understand is how a picture makes it impossible to copy a video. I have over 300 music, I would take forever to do that. No other methods?

Link Don't remember if doing a CheckDisk on the drive helped. Give a try to what I wrote. At least it may exclude my possibility.
