Guest kingsloi Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Hi, Not sure if this has been posted before, look around/searched but found nothing. I've always kept my SMS/Txts for some reason, nostalgia I guess. I heard Jeyo Mobile Extender for MS Outlook is one of the best programs to backup your SMS's/Sync them with Microsoft Outlook (Like e-mails are sync'd). I bought it, and installed it but when I read how to use it.. it always mentioned Activesync this and Activesync that, but I'm not on XP, I've got Windows 7 Professional x86 which comes with it's own sync center. So I was never able to succsessfully sync my SMS's with my computer. So I pretty much gave up. And having about 3,500 messages in your Inbox was pretty annoying because it would take long to open, or sometimes lock and you'd have to soft-reset to get back to them. Until I started to play around with the my computer settings. I've not got any A/V or F/W except what comes installed with Win7. So first thing I done was disabled the Inbuilt Firewall and what'dyaknow it worked! It sync both my inbox and outbox (about 5000 messages in total) in about 10 minutes. So now I sync my phone how I normally would, and now It automatically downloads the SMS's from my Omnia and then deletes the entries stored on my phone. It's an amazing little tool for Backing up. You can also use outlook the same way you would to search through e-mails, like enter in keywords and stuff. Now to the firewall part - Add an Inbound Rule in Windows Firewall for outlook.exe, protocol TCP and port 9035. to do this: Open Control Panel Open Windows Firewall Click Advanced Settings Select Inbound Rules From the Menu, select New Rule Rule Type -> Custom Program -> %Program Files% (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 12\OUTLOOK.EXE (or wherever your Outlook.exe is) Protocol and Ports -> Protocol type: TCP, Local Port -> Specific Port: 9035 Scope: Which remote IP address does this rule apply to? These IP address -> Predefined set of computers -> Local subnet Action: Allow the connection Profile: Uncheck Domain and Public Name: Jeyo Mobile Extender There you go, backup your sms's in Windows 7 Hopefully this is useful to someone like it was for me!

Guest kingsloi Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Hi, What version of Outlook are you using? Might sound dumb but are you using Microsoft Outlook, or Outlook express? What OS are you on? Have you tried to uninstall, delete registry keys and then re-install? -kingsloi
Guest daze sxi Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Hi, thanks for a quick reply, Im using Microsoft Outlook 2007, and im running Vista Home Basic, and yeah I did uninstall it and re-install it, but I dont know how to delete the registry keys so I didnt do that.... how do I go about doing that? Thanks again daze_sxi
Guest kingsloi Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Hi, To delete the registry keys, go to start, run, enter- regedit - the registry editor opens, navigate using the panel on the right hand side to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ and delete the Jeyo folder, (after you have uninstalled it ofcourse). Have you tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling it? What exactly does the Toolbar in Outlook look like? Kingsloi

Kingsloi Hi Sorry for the late reply, yeah I followed this ^ and there wasnt any registry keys there, so I am right in guessing it deleted when I uninstalled it? I have only jus installed Microsoft Office for this reason lol, I would never use it otherwise, so I installed in from disc for this program. The toolbar at the moment just looks normal (becuase Jeyo is not installed) but even when Jeyo is installed it doesnt look any different all I get is that error message? - its very odd Thanks
