Hi,

is there a way to backup the applist?

There are tools to backup the (unprotected) apps to sd-card, but when you reinstall the .apk-files they are not shown in the market when an update is available.

Is there any tool that reinstalls all of them via the market so you don't loose that capability?

Not exactly what you're looking for, but aTrackDog will track all your applications and notify you of updates available, even if the app isn't available in the Market.
