Anyway to delete the original ringtones?

Hi guys, upgraded to Paul's new ROM this morning with my newly bought 8gb class 6 memory card - all well.

I know this might sound a little ott but i'd like to get as much space free on the hero handset as possible.

I was wondering if there were a way to get permission somehow to be able to delete the original ringtones/alarms/notifications?

Thanks in advance, Andy`

Never mind i've done it with su file manager and terminal, does anyone happen to know where the orignal wallpapers are stored?

Care to share where you removed the original ringtones from?

Sure no problem, First of all you need a rooted phone then secondly this program: http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.protocol.x.su.fbs

Once you have that, open the program up; it will be like a normal file browser, press the menu button and click Mount System RW (makes the system read-writable).

Navigate to /system/media/audio, here you will see 4 directories named Alarm, Notifications, Ringtones & UI - go into each of the directories apart from UI and delete the files you don't wish to keep, once you have finished doing the that, press menu button once more and click Mount System RO (Read Only) and keep clicking back button to shutdown the file manager, it will ask you to shutdown, click the shutdown button.

Power off the phone and power it back on, now you will notice there aren't any original ringtones to select from.

Thanks, Andy`

Hi,

I recently upgraded to the HTC Hero, and I'm still learning how to use all of its features. How do I delete ringtones that I downloaded?? I can't seem to find the option anywhere...

Can't see anything in that url, either on the PC or through the phone. The URL brings up a blank page, nothing is downloading either. Is there another URL? or an app on the market or something?

Regards,

Mas
