Trouble with Tethering

So I'm using the Internet Connection Sharing on my VZW Omnia to get my PC on the internet and the connection itself is fickle. It works, but it sometimes doesn't stay connected. Below are the two errors I generally run into when I get disconnected:

"The remote party has ended this connection" (searched)

"The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed tap settings" (no results)

Rarely when browsing straight from the phone, I'll see the first one. And most of the time the phone will just disconnect from the internet without an error message. Does anyone have any insight as to what I can do to make these error messages stop so I can continue browsing in uninterrupted bliss? Also could these be capacity related messages (like a "too many people trying to access 'the network' in one area type thing")?

Also I'm currently using Adrynalyne's M2D 3.0 ROM, but I've seen these error messages while using VZW's stock CF03 ROM too.
