Hi,

I am completely new to this, I had a Nokia N80 that I used with Tomtom6, I bought an m700 because it was one of the compatible phones, however, I cannot get TT to show up when I put the sd card in. I looked at other posts and installed the visualgpsce that someone suggested so I know the gps works. Can anyone help me install TT?

Thanks

Ross

Welcome to the site :)

The problem you have is that you are trying to use a Symbian OS based application on a Windows Mobile OS device.

I can not remember if TomTom has the application on their site to download also TomTomdid not officially create a V6 for the WM format if I remember correctly. I would contact them asking about WM compatable version with the map version you have, then hopefully they will help you in reactivating your maps.

As the new version of TomTom would not be compatable with the maps you have one cheap option would be to look at another application like CoPilot which is not a bad appliction and at a very good price.

EDIT

just noticed THIS POST and it may sort out your problems?

Many thanks for your reply, though I am a little confused (not fully understanding about the different OS), I bought the M700 specifically because it was on the list of compatible phones on the TT site. I'll phone TT today and tell them about changing phone and see if they can help. I'll post how I get on in case there are any other numpties like me around.

Thanks again.

Being new to a device does not make you a "numptie" years ago a Smartphone (with a capital 'S') was a Windows Mobile device but now every device with some form of OS or less are now classed as smartphones, so it's easy to get confused.

The best way to help understanding the different Windows/Symbian OS is to comparing it to Windows PC and an Apple MAC, both do similar tasks but both use completely different software.

Hi all,

I would like to share you all....

I like my 910. It does all that I want it too. The tomtom home gets better but they still haven't addressed my main and I guess others too problem which is if you have you itunes library on another drive which is not the OS drive the application crashes. After speaking to the generally poor tech support it turns out that they don't support having your music on another drive. In fact they seem to think this is an industry standard and that I'm a silly person having my music on another drive. They should spend more time trying to get this fixed and allowing mac users to use the planning feature rather than adding store features to encourage you to buy extra stuff.
