Guest Nanu*1 Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Is that a track ball or the ball out of a 1980's mouse?
Guest surfsmurf Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Engadget claims that the display will be 240x320. I'm only just getting into Android dev myself, I wonder how well existing apps will work with this?

The Apps work fine running on the TyTN II which has a 240x320 screen so I can't see there being any problems! :-)

But I would have thought games that use the entire screen would be particularly error-prone.

Guest Lordsmiff Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 It does look like quite a cool little phone and I'm absolutely loving android on my G1 and would never consider going back to WinMo now but the killer for me (if it is indeed true), and I can't quite believe they've done this, is that it is a resistive touchscreen, not a capacitive one. It'll be a lemon and will only put people off android phones because of a crap touchscreen. I really do hope the reports aren't true though...

It would be a backwards step if they did; the touchscreen on the Hero is so good I would be amazed if they didn't use the same type. I can't find anything definite on the HTC site, but this site says it's capacitive: http://www.letsgomobile.org/en/cellular/2033/htctattoo/ Looks pretty cool, I may buy the one in purple for the missus.
Guest mcwarre Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 The Tattoo is now available to order on expansys for £289.99 +£20 expansys vouchers. Rather tempting and cheap (ish)
